Teleradiology

Teleradiology of radiological patient images, such as x-rays, CTs, and MRIs, from one location to another for the purposes of interpretation and/or consultation. Teleradiology improves patient care by allowing Radiologists to provide services without actually having to be at the location of the patient. This is particularly key when a sub specialist such as a MRI Radiologist, Neuroradiologist, Pediatric Radiologist, or Musculoskeletal Radiologist is needed as these professionals are generally only located in large metropolitan areas working during day time hours. Teleradiology allows for trained specialists to be available 24/7.

  • Virtual Locum coverage for illnesses, vacations, holidays, weekends, holidays, & meetings
  • After hours coverage
  • Full Coverage 24/7/365
  • Preliminary and Final Reads - Reports instantly delivered
  • Licensed in your State and Credentialed at your facility(s) • Toll-free to discuss studies with your ED Staff and ordering physicians

Priors:

We require that our clients provide us with the most recent pertinent old studies with the new study for a more definitive read.  This is generally performed by the technologist and transmitted with the new study.  Digitizing old studies requires time and effort but is a requirement by all our Teleradiologists for Final Reads providing a more definitive interpretation.  The "good" news is that we provide "HIPAA Compliant" off-site Disaster Recovery for ALL studies we receive which provides us (over time) with relevant archived priors which are automatically attached to new studies thereby seriously reducing the technologist overhead.  There is no additional charge for this permanent archiving.

Collaboration with Associates:

With our advanced Teleradiology infrastructure there is basically no download time involved (seconds).  A reading teleradiologist may contact an associate teleradiologist across the nation to discuss an image/study, complete the consultation with both Teleradiologists viewing the same case.  Then disconnect and continue reading in a matter of seconds.  This mimics the typical radiology practice in a large multi specialty facility with the staff radiologists consulting with each other about a complicated study.
