Enterprise Distribution
Secure, reliable and cost effective network distribution is the goal of every enterprise

An efficient, secure, reliable and cost effective Network distribution of Medical Information is the ultimate goal of any medical network, weather it be LAN, WAN or SAN. DICOM Distribution network solution will make all of your internal and external record distribution fast, easy and safe. This includes connecting multiple clinical workstations in your practice to your medical office servers, scanners and printers. All data, including images is easily and quickly accessible with just the click of a mouse.
DICOM Distribution will assess your Network Bandwidth;which is a CRITICAL component for efficient and effective transmission of patient and image data. All of the DICOM Distribution options have been designed with complete (HIPAA) compliance and a focus on simplicity of use.

Medical Insight Enterprise Web Distribution

The EasyViz System is a THIN-CLIENT component that when added to any modern PACS system, provides enterprise-wide distribution and immediate access to images and data. The EasyViz client is ultra-thin (1 MB in size) and installs in seconds on any type of client device. It does not require any specific support from the OS (like Java, ActiveX, etc). The client is a SECURE full-featured viewer with all expected features and functions, plus advanced capabilities such as worklists, annotations, hanging protocols, 3D reconstructions, presentation states, shutters, access to reports, and other capabilities.
- Provide a single web solution to extend your existing PACS
- Access image and report information from legacy PACS systems
- Extend advanced imaging tools beyond the radiology department
- Integrate departmental mini PACS with enterprise PACS
- Acquire images from various modalities for global access
- Bypass complicated data migration processes

The Technology
The medical imaging market has experienced a growing need for providing access to image data outside of radiology departments. Clinicians want instant and secure access to images and reports from anywhere inside or outside the hospital facility, without compromising image quality or reducing available clinical functionality.
EasyViz provides this.
Developed by Medical Insight, EasyViz is based on Server-Side Computing and proprietary technology called Adaptive Streaming. As an example of the specialized, powerful methods employed by Adaptive Streaming for the handling of medical image data and analysis functions, consider the following common scenario:
A clinician analyzing CT images...
A clinician is analyzing a stack of 2D images from a CT scan of a patient – specifically, the clinician is modifying the window width/level for a particular slice in order to get a better look at a suspicious area.
Adaptive streaming
Adaptive streaming handles this scenario by using the power of the server to perform window width/level modifications. The modifications are then transferred to the client via mathematical formulae, indicating how to modify the display. This process occurs each time the user modifies the window width/level values.
While the width level is being modified, the Adaptive Streaming method does not send frame images from the server to the client each time the image brightness or contrast changes. Rather, a CODEC is used such that a formula is sent that specifies in a predictive manner how pixel values should be modified on the client. This transmission of a formula is significantly smaller in size.
Technology workflow:
Illustration A shows that all computations are performed on the server, and specialized formulae are transferred to the client indicating how to update the display on the client to match the server state. In B1, the clinician has a specific slice from a scan on the screen. In B2, the clinician has modified the window width/level of the same slice and only the changed pixels have been streamed to the screen. All other elements of the image remain unchanged and do not take up unnecessary bandwidth.
What are the benefits of Adaptive Streaming?
Adaptive streaming provides clinical staff with ultimate remote access to full DICOM-quality images from any location outside the hospital enterprise, even over very low bandwidth (2Mbps) connections and in heterogeneous IT environments. The technology increases daily workflow efficiency and fully supports telemedicine and tele-collaboration by providing instant, remote access to patient images, without compromising functionality and image quality. Patient images are directly streamed from a central hospital’s EasyViz server to a client’s computer through a fully encrypted connection, providing complete security and saving valuable storage space on the client side as the images never leave the hospital’s server.

Medical Records in the Digital Age
Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) is a file format similar to ".jpg" or ".png,". DICOM offers the type of high resolution and flexibility required for the digitization of medical images produced by X-Ray, MR, mammography and other modalities. In addition, DICOM format includes pertinent patient information, forever eliminating the possibility that the patient ID will become separated from the image. While such information is typically stored on a server and/or individual hard drive, DICOM to CD is a fast and economical way to create back-ups that can be stored, mailed and distributed. It is also part of an integrated teleradiology system that facilitates the transmission of medical images over the Web. With the use of such teleradiology equipment, patient records can be retrieved and viewed remotely, allowing for effective real-time collaboration and consultation with colleagues anytime, anywhere.
